This Perry supporter and her husband voted absentee for Perry last weekend. I really thought he’d stay in the race until after the SC primary, but he did the honorable thing and dropped out and graciously endorsed Newt.

If that makes me an idiot, so be it.

BTW, all of the candidates’ names were still on the ballots, even though there were signs up saying that Bachman, Cain, Huntsman, etc. were no longer in the race. So I figure there were people who voted for them even though they’d already dropped out.

I’ve only voted early absentee once in my life. Ya never know what’s going to happen. I ‘get’ Perry since he only pulled out of the race this week, and same for Huntsman, but Cain? The only explanation I can think of is that military ballots are sent out well in advance of the elections.

Obviously, the Perry/Huntsman/Cain/Bachmann votes won’t affect the outcome, but I’d be disappointed if it turned out my vote was for naught.
