Isn't that what we're all supposed to desire in a leader?
BTW, who are you to be the arbiter of which of these candidates actually live by God's standards?
Be very careful before you answer that question.
“Since when does wanting our President to live by God’s standards being ‘holier than thou?’
Isn’t that what we’re all supposed to desire in a leader? “
Because no one with a brain thinks that anyone can or has.
Demanding that someone lives to perfection to get a vote is to demand that someone lives equal to God.
We have a real danger at the head of the government whom does not care about any Christian’s opinion of him, so most of us are looking to dispatch of that first with the best man to do that. He is not perfection by church standards as we are all not, but he knows how to fight in the political arena as it is now.
So some of us will have to deiced what they want more. To feel or to think.
Let GOD be the judge of a man’s character, all others are sinners. None of them are ordained be the example of who is better than others. Mr. Gingrich is every bit as qualified in that regard.
And here again, we ARE electing a President, not a leader of a church. That standard does not belong in the discussion and is not a standard by which to elect our leaders. It is merely a quality to be respected but not obsessed over.
Please consider God’s standards in terms of Matthew 18:22 and get back to us :)
Despite all that, Jimmy Carter made a lousy president.
