Rick Santorum walked a fine line in his response to questions about Marianne Gingrichs accusations against her ex-husband and Santorums GOP rival, Newt.
Personal matters are personal matters, but they are matters that are particularly when you are in public life as he was at the time and the people involved were also in a sense in public life those issues are issues that people will look at, Santorum responded.
I believe in forgiveness, Im called to believe in forgiveness, he continued. I do believe having some accountability to a higher calling other than self is a very, very important aspect and perspective that is important for leaders.
To make the final comment, these are issues of character and these are issues that people will consider based upon the time, when, where, how all those thing will factor in and Ill let people make that decision, Im certainly not going to make it for them, he said to a crowd of about 150 people.
Rick is not remotely politically capable enough to be president, he’s just not folks. He doesnt’ have the intellect, political skill, or frankly the ability to survive a national campaign. His best hope ever would be a VP slot, and that’s about as far as his abilities will ever take him, and that is on his BEST DAY.
He’s not a bad person, but he’s just not A list material, not even close.
I did not know that you thought that, since Clintoon's wife was fine with the serial adultery and rapes, you were just fine with them too. Thanks for clearing that up.
***JWalsh is right, Cyber Liberty Newbie.
JWalsh is a nOOb, to me. Like you.
1st Corinthians, BTW.
Newt’s Catholic now. So is Santorum. Santorum has every right to call him out as a brother in Christ.
It would serve Newt better, you mean.
No, in the news today it’s praise Newt because nobody else can win.
Except for Santorum in Iowa.
So you’re saying that Newt did the right thing by cheating on his wife, getting divorced and then marrying his mistress -
twice? Sure, Marianne’s no saint, but let’s back this up some. If Newt had kept it in his pants, he’d still be married and none of this would have happened.
Actions have consequences. Treat a woman like trash, don’t be surprised if she hates you.
No, it’s because we’re backing a winner, not the 4th place finisher.
Iowa seems to think otherwise.
And so is Newt. Newt’s a serial adulterer too.
Why are you giving Newt a pass when you wouldn’t give Clinton a pass?
News flash. Santorum is polling waay back. He’s toast - what worked for Santorum in Iowa - a year on the ground - will not work going forward. Get a clue. And realize Saundra is the lead Mittbott on FR. And you are being played for the fool you are.
So you are reduced to playing the same games with the facts that the Dems did. Hardly a surprise.
Worked well enough for President Coolidge.
I’ll take slow and steady over hope and change.
I agree with Santorum on a lot of things, but there’s something about him that turns me off.
So let me ask you a question.
Say Rick Santorum were to go hiking the appalachian trail.
Then with the 7 kids he has, he were to marry his mistress.
Would you believe he has repented, because he married his mistress?
You’re the one pushing Clinton with a R on us. Like I said, most folks would give just about anything for Slick Willy, I didn’t realize it was envy on our side.
Now this is funny. Let's examine. What you're saying is that "slow and steady" could even get elected now. Really. I hate to break this to you, but we don't live in the Coolidge era anymore. I too would pick RS over Obama. I think Santorum would be fine President and certainly will vote for him over Obama if it comes to that. I just don't think he has what it takes to get elected and his tiresome strident boring petulant attacks annoy me to no end.
I’m the fool? Um, I was a Cain supporter.
I supported the man who would have blown Mitt out of the water, before the knives came out.
So if you want to call me a Mitt supporter have at it. Lies will never prevail.
Once again, Santorum is dead in the water. He had a plan for Iowa but nothing workable going forward and that shows.
Coolidge is probably the best president this country ever had. So yes, anytime I get a chance to elect slow and steady, you’d better believe I’m gonna step up to the plate.
But I guess we need hope and change. We need fire, nevermind checking to make sure it’s directed at the enemy...
The end result is little different.
Oh, and BTW, Cain ended up having his own problems in the marital department - in the end, his actions because impossible to defend because he tried to keep them covered up. With Newt, his issues are out in the open. Cain thought he could keep them hidden - stupid, stupid, stupid.
