Why all the Santorum hate?
Many Freepers are now locked into newt to fight mitt. They don’t understand that you can also fight mitt with Santorum. And Santorum won’t let the people of this country down. Newt let’s conservatives down Often. Freepers have just forgotten that. But since rick’s going after newt too, Freepers don’t like him. Also, he’s not fireworks. Rick is comfort food.
I like Rick and I like Newt. At this point Godspeed to whichever one can beat out Mittens for the nomination. I think either will serve us well. Don’t like the vitriol I’m seeing here toward either of these two. Rather like seeing it aimed at Romney.
"Comfort" is not a word I'd juxtapose with Rick Santorum. I feel uncomfortable for Santorum watching him deliver his lines. He comes across as stiff and tense. He doesn't strike me as presidential.

He's W without the personal charm or executive experience.
No, it would be difficult to fight Mitt with Santorum because Santorum is a big-government conservative. He wants government to provide solutions just as much as Mitt does. He has a clear record of voting for more government not less.

Santorum won't let social conservatives down. He's solid in that respect. However, he has a record of letting fiscal conservatives down with his votes for more government control in our lives. He has a problem understanding the concept of individual liberty and individual responsibility. He has no problem with the government forcing his values upon all Americans whether they share his values or not.
Newt let’s conservatives down Often. Freepers have just forgotten that.
Newt has done more for the conservative cause than Santorum has or probably ever will. Certainly Newt has made mistakes and strayed from what we believe he should have done. FReepers have not forgotten that. However, mistakes are to be expected from someone with as many years experience as Newt has. The upside is that he has learned from them and can use them to forge a better path forward.
But since rick’s going after newt too, Freepers don’t like him.
You're wrong. If FReepers have issues with Rick, those issues are likely his big-government policies/votes, his petulant attitude in debates, and his seemingly impossible chance of beating Obama in the general election. We're not seven-year-olds. This primary isn't about disliking someone who picks on our preferred candidate.
