Not a good debate. The main highlight was Gingrich’s response to the 1st question. The rest has been pretty dull. Santorum did not help himself with this one. Romney as the usual held his own but scored no grwoth points. Newt was good as always. Paul was insignificant as usual.
Newt’s a great debater, and we love his smack down of the media. I know everyone (including me) loved his first response on wifey #2. However that issue is going to sting Newt. Remember Newt is a republican. He can’t get away with infidelities like Clinton and the dems.
Newt will probably win SC. Because the marital issues won’t sink in much in SC before Saturday. But over the next few weeks, it is going to be the water cooler talk al across America. And can you imagine what the late night comedians are going to do with the “open marriage” information (doesn’t matter if it is true or not). I am sure SNL will be doing a skit this weekend or next. And they will probably bring Mitt into the skit saying he is the one who is supposed to have multiple wives. You know it is coming folks. Don’t kid yourself. The ex wife interview is going to cost Newt.
The media just frosts me to no end. Not fair. Just reality.
(CNN keeps running ads for the popular vote. I wish there was an opposition campaign to educate those who didn't get educated in public school on why we have the electoral college rather than a presidential popular vote.)
In the after show Donna Brazille predicts the ex-wife is a losing issue for Republicans if Newt's the nominee; thinks Newt wins SC. She hit Romney on his ridiculousness on release of tax returns.
