Couple of comments here...

I never said the current candidates were any worse than Obama in regard to character. I believe Obama is aligned with Satan - PERIOD. You can’t go any lower than that - he is challenging Hitler to be the worst ever.

Heck he is even making Jimmy Carter look good.

What frustrates me about FR right now? The Gingrich supporters by in-large act no differently than the Obama supporters - its like we have GBOTS now. No ONE will address Gingrich’s issues. They throw insults, will not answer legitimate questions, concern - won’t even engage in a debate here so we can ALL get to the truth.

Gingrich’s own words...he is a Wilsonian.

http://conservapedia.com/Wilsonianism

Do we really want to go down this road again?

If this is only about beating Obama then why isn’t Romney on the table? Gingrich is not dissimilar than Clinton and FR sure made a lot of hay attacking Clinton’s character. For me it’s simple...Gingrich, Romney lack the moral fiber, lack the core principles and ethics that our country needs in a leader and what Conservatives should be DEMANDING - remember we out-number them!!!

Think about 1 billion being spent on a national daily negative ad campaign. This is all Obama has to do to win - one ad every day:

“She isn’t young enough or pretty enough to be the President’s wife. And besides, she has cancer.” - Newt, on his first wife.

One sound-bite every day in every market. Do you really think the American people outside the GBOTS will actually vote for Gingrich?

Santorum isn’t the flashiest but he is the ONLY one representing the truth - well Ron Paul does that as well to some extent but he is so far off the reservation on other issues he just isn’t serious.

Find a place where Santorum has lied? Find a core conservative principle where Santorum has flip-flopped? Find a flaw ethic in either his personal or professional life?

Let me saying something bold - God is watching and I really don’t think God is happy with us choosing the lesser of two evils.

Why not give truth a try this go-around? Why not put Obama up against the truth?

Look at the velocity of what Obama has done in spending, regulations, etc...this is the last chance before we lose our freedom - PERIOD and Ronald Reagan said...once a country has lost freedom they have NEVER gotten it back!

I just don’t see Gingrich actually winning the election - sure he will knock out Obama during debates - but is this what this is really about - embarrassing Obama?

Or is this about Conservatives (the majority of the country) having the courage to actually stand up for principles, ethics and morals and stand in the bright light of the truth and if God intends for Obama to stay in office to destroy the country that so many Conservatives have abandoned in their responsibility to be informed and vote - then at least we didn’t compromise our principles and support one lesser of a scumbag over another.

So here we are...are Americans actually brave rugged individuals like our founders or are we flip-flopping, convenient moral and ethics, participation trophy lemmings with no core values anymore?

And since when did America (or FR for that matter) become a place where people can’t disagree. If people understood the American experiment they would understand we are individuals and collected agreement is impossible - but that is exactly what makes us great - disagreements force improvements, failures force improvements.

We just can’t be afraid to fail especially if we are making our decisions on good moral and ethical principles.

Thanks for your kind and thoughtful responses it shows there are some decent people left here.

That line of talk has been said about supporters of every candidate, maybe you could call them "worshipers" and score points that way....../s & *rolling eyes*

Please see my clearly obvious acronym tag line memo......

Thank you for the discussion as well, and for the time for me to FINALLY track down the link I wanted, with Judge Napolitano discussing a radio clip from Santorum.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gwwmm-cQxU&feature=player_embedded#!

It is pretty sobering, not just for Santorum’s unapologetic worldview, but also for Judge Napolitano voicing much of the same concern that we FReepers have had as to what our choices are. And THAT was immediately following Iowa when we still had a full field!

The harsh reality is that the media has systematically winnowed away all comers and they will continue to do so, (If We Let Them!) until they have anointed the candidate they know is beatable. A candidate who meets THEIR criteria. Someone they can classify as weak or hesitant by nature, or owing to a lack of experience on the national stage,(Santorum). Someone who the base will have no passion for, who people would vote for only out of desperation, or ignorance (ROMNEY).

Good, bad or indifferent, the truth is that Gingrich does NOT fit their mold. Newt knows what is at stake here, he knows what a statesman is, and that we are sorely in need of one.

Is Newt’s philosophical political view scarier than Santorum’s? That is probably a individual call. Will Newt be able to overcome his foibles and become the statesman we need? Only God knows the answer to that question, but what I know is that he is a heck of a seasoned fighter, and right now, I believe that is what America needs, because we are facing enemies on all sides.

Thanks again for the discussion, FRiend, and may God grant each of us the strength and wisdom we will need to see this through.
Tatt
