Clinton Says Gingrich 'Just Like Romney'
US News & World Report ^ | January 18, 2012 | Paul Bedard

Bill Clinton, the original "comeback kid" doesn't see much hope for a resurgence by Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, dissing him in a new interview as a Romney clone because of issues the former speaker has flip-flopped on.

Clinton, who is on the cover of the upcoming issue of Esquire, puts down the speaker who has bragged on the campaign trail of how he worked with Clinton to reform welfare and balance the budget.

Clinton doesn't giving any love back. In an excerpt provided to Whispers, the former president says, "As a private citizen he was for certain important health-care reforms and believed in climate change and believed there had to be a strong reaction to it. And now he's just like Romney. Neither one of them can say what they believe to be true and get nominated. Romney's still trying to figure out what he did as governor of Massachusetts and still appeal to this driving vituperative energy."

I think they do draw many similarities as far as their negatives go. Both candidates have very high negative numbers which will bode poorly when the real race begins in the fall.

Words of wisdom: When you think the same thing as BJ Clinton, it is time to re-examine your position.

I'll keep that in mind the next time I hear Newt Gingrich repeat Bill Clinton's bogus claim that we had a balanced budget four years in a row during his term.

Well, foundationally, it depends on the meaning of what “like” is.

Wasn’t it Newt who shoved Welfare Reform up Clinton’s ass?

It’s no wonder Bubba doesn’t like him.

Motive equals Romney. But I agree with him about Gingrich. He’s Pelosi’s boy toy for all practical purposes. What part of Pelosi’s very public brag that she has Newty by the proverbial [short hairs] do some people not believe.

Ity’a not a matter of Marxist demrats wanting to lose to Romney(care). They want someone friendly toward them if The Usurping Marxist Onada gets kicked out.

If Gingrich goes all McCain in the name of getting things done to make everyone happy. It will be the first time ole slick willy told the truth. And slick willy loathes Obama so this is real bad. With all that said...I think all the candidates were eaten by they’re own and Perry or Bachmann would have done better than the two insiders and nutjob we have left.If I had to pick I would pick Santorum for the PA win; but the schism is just what Obama wanted.Everyone will rally around the Newt but more of the same crap will entail. We have allowed them all to slide so badly it will take a long way to get back.

As far as I’m concerned, Obama would destroy either man. Romney on the things we talk about and Gingrich on the things we try to ignore.

In any case, the GOP doesn’t intend to win the white house. Things are too messy and the path of least resistance means sitting back and watching the collapse from the sidelines. And why shouldn’t they, congress is a damn sweet deal compared to doing the heavy lifting and getting beat up in the media for it.
