I don’t have the affection for Newt like I did for Reagan, but I think Newt will be likeable over time if he does great things.

Ann Coulter loves to bash him with he talks the talk but not the walk, but you need to be president to walk the walk.

He’s far from perfect. If he had the Palin smile, the Romney good looks, athletic like Jack Kemp etc we’d go nutso for him... but he’s not.

He’s like Babe Ruth. He’s the Bambino.

Americans like a winner. They like someone who doesn’t whine and plays to win. I don’t hear Newt asking these others to drop off.

If he wins he’ll get the respect he needs from the DC Elites, but it won’t be easy. Winning SC would be HUGE...I mean HUGE!!!!!!! I don’t see him doing it, but I think he’ll be respectable.

Please watch this High School Meeting from last week. Scroll to around 22 minutes or so...Then tell me if you still dislike the guy.

LIVE Spartanburg County Republican Party & Greenville County ...

I don't think you get it. It's not about the smile, looks or athletics. It's about the POSITIONS Newt has taken.

He's a great talker, but he's not dependable. He's a waffle. I loved Newt back in the 90's...loved him. But he's proved himself flaky since then. Too many people on both left and right get sucked in by a good speaker. Not me. I watch the actions. The actions are what marks a good executive. Newt's actions and positions have disappointed. Why would I trust him now? Because he's promising again? Nope. Ain't going for it.
