I understand where you are coming from but it still doesnt explain Perry’s pathetic performance from the start. he jumped in late in the game completely unprepared and it showed. he may now be damaged goods definitely looked foolish from the outset. i dont know if he can come back from this in the future. As for Romney part of his current success was due to the fact that he ran in 2008 and never really stopped. he did crisscross the country in various races and helped Rs get elected all across the country. that pays dividends. he had the infrastructure, the money and the exposure to get where he is today. couple that with his opponents being flawed in one way or another and well here we are. not to say Romney isnt flawed (obviously he is) just saying that it was a confluence of events that made him the “front runner”. with no single more conservative alternative to coalesce around he will be the nominee unless this tax thing gets any bigger.
