Also TBBT, and I hope I don’t get flamed- but I think Juan Williams has a small conservative streak-—and I have a sense that he asked those questions because he knew Newt would ace it.

In any event, one way or another, if Newt pulls it out in SC, he has Juan to thank.

Good point....Juan gets to keep his bona fides with the liberals....BUT, gives Newt a chance to shine....

Agree with that, and posted a similar thought on the Live Debate Thread earlier. Juan is certainly no conservative--but he's not one of those "tingle-down-the-leg" libtards either.

And--he was not at all defensive about the standing O that Newt got. In fact, it seemed as if he enjoyed the audience's reaction and engagement, and saw it as part of what made the debate so good.
