Yes, but it's a formal procedure where questions are written and passed by the judge, prosecution, and defense--signed, stamped, read into the record.
There were a fair number of questions for Salinas and that made his testimony last far longer than it would normally take in a civilian trial. I can't imagine all those witnesses will be called without this turning into a trial-marathon.
