Just heard Rush asking a caller what the Romney supporters most object to regarding his characterization. She said basically Romneycare, Mormonism, etc.
Rush went on to explain that the media and the WH will be using Romneycare against him in the general. I LOVE Rush, but this argument against Romney’s electability doesn’t fly with me at all. Our uninformed voters will certainly not see Romneycare as a turn-off. In fact, the opposite effect will take place. The more Obama tries to use Romneycare, the more helpful it will be to Romney. Again, we’re dealing with a huge uninformed, uninterested, voting public, some of whom who may tend to think of themselves as “republican” aka “rinos” on this forum. They will only pick up on soundbytes, and if they hear RomneyCare, it will be a good thing for Mitt, not a bad thing. Removing O is the goal. . . and whatever it takes is what we need to do in this very critical election cycle.
It may not fly with you, but that’s because you’re wrong. Remember, Obama’s slide in the polls started during the health care debate. Obamacare is unpopular and handing the nomination to Romney would neutralize Obama on arguably his weakest point.
