So far Newt hasn’t placed at the top of anything. Until he does, the others won’t drop out. SC is crucial for Newt, if he doesn’t place well, the others won’t drop out unless they are broke.

I don't know if it's true or not, but someone posted yesterday that Perry was going to do the right thing and drop out after Iowa (remember when he said he was going to go home and assess), but apparently his donors pressured him into staying in until after SC, saying “we didn't donate so you could drop out before even one Southern primary.”

If that's true, then it sounds like Perry was going to do what is right, but his effin’ donors and supporters are going to screw the rest of us by (a) keeping him in the race, and (b) voting for him in SC.

I wish Perry had the nads to tell his supporters that he's not beholden to them just because they paid money to support him, and that it's his job as a leader to do the right thing and drop out.
