According to an Israeli defense official, Washington wants to avoid causing further tensions in the region, especially in light of the sensitive situation that has been generated after various reports in the international media that the U.S. and Israel are preparing to strike Iran's nuclear facilities.
The drill, codenamed Austere Challenge 12, was supposed to simulate the missiles fired by Iran or other antagonistic states toward Israel. Defense officials told Channel 2 on Sunday that the drill is now scheduled to take place in the summer.
Both Israeli and U.S. officials said the exercise would be the largest-ever joint drill by the two countries, involving thousands of U.S. soldiers.
News of it came amid heightened tensions between U.S. allies and Iran, after Tehran threatened it could close the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial oil supply route.
But the IDF said the drill was planned long ago and is not tied to recent events. The drill "is not in response to any real-world event," the IDF wrote in a statement last week.
The Defense Ministry said in an official statement that the postponement of the drill has not yet been announced, and that the subject is currently being discussed between Israeli and U.S. officials.

I would not be surprised, though. I figured Obama would wait a little longer and blame the cancellation on expanding Israeli settlements or some other convenient excuse.

Look folks, why bad mouth Obama with cursing, foul language, gutter talk, etc. Just tell it like it is!!! Obama is in bed with Iran!!! Obama has handed over Iraq to Iran, Afghanistan to Pakistan, Egypt to the Muslim Brotherhood, Libya to the Muslim Brotherhood, kept Syria alive and well for Iran, surrended just about the entire Middle East and North Africa to Muslim terrorists, left Israel to stand alone!!!
And.....Obama has voided all progress in those troubled, hate America areas and he has laughed at the sacrifices made by our magnificent troops. I weep and pray for all of our troops and, at the thoughts of the families of those brave soldiers who died, were wounded, disabled, injured and harmed mentally while in action defending our country, freedom and liberty. Obama has planned this all along. We should not be cursing Obama, we should remove him from office by defeating his re-election in November, 2012. Americans, actions speak louder then words. He is just simply not one of us, an American I mean. He never was an American and....never will be one!!! Sad!!! We should not be cursing, we should be crying!!!!

The Cold War is coming back.
The Iranian’s seemed to have played the last few months very well. Anticipating the massive US Israel exercise, which of course they don’t want, they rattled enough to get Putin to scare all the diplomats and now the gutless teleprompter is having second thoughts. In the end, I think this development just makes the world a more dangerous place.
