Oh, I agree, in theory, but we don't know what might happen when a physical Baltimore team butts heads with NE. They can't really match up well otherwise, so they will try to get physical with them I reckon. Might they clobber, hobble a few Pats in the process?

Still, smart money would be on NE, no matter their opponent. Giants are in a groove though, and if they might also get some guys healthy before the big game. One thing's for sure: In the playoffs the hottest and healthiest team almost always prevails.

Me, I'm pulling for SF at this juncture, just because I like they're style and spirited play. NE vs that defense would be a fun ride.

But there is one factor that even the very best NFC teams, or resurging teams, such as the Giants cannot factor in, is the revenge factor. The Pats have not forgotten losing to the Giants a few years back. Do not count that out.

A SF vs. NE SB game would be a fun match.

The revenge factor only seems to work if you have a better team than the other guy and momentum seems to be the driving factor and the Giants have it big time. The Giants will blow the Patriots out this year if they win the NFC as their front four is even better than the one that won in 2008 and New England is not near as good as they were in 2008. I think if the 49ers are victorious they will win too. The NFC is simply better than the AFC right now and the fact that team like the Giants is doing what they are is simply a testament to that fact as their lower seeds can knock off high quality teams like the Packers and the Saints.

[snip] The New York Giants became the only road team to win in this month’s NFL playoffs, stunning the Green Bay Packers 37-20 Sunday to advance to the NFC championship game. [/snip]

“The Packers were the most overated team in the NFL.”

I beg to disagree; the Jets were. Even when their coach admitted early in the season that they were not a Super Bowl team, he was attacked for it (I guess it was a strange thing to voice in public).

“These Pats in the playoffs are not the same Pats of the regular season.”

Giants been there, done that (with the same coach/QB, to the same coach/QB). I just like talking smack; no analytics involved, just pure emotion. Go Giants!

Though the NFC have had their weak spots, the Packers proved it last night. So it goes to show that right now, the best teams ARE the Giants and the Pats.

Well when the Packers won the SB last year, had to put up with Green Bay showing off during that time. Glad they are OUT.

Good job Giants!

There are no more teams left in the hunt that interest me. They can keep a crappy east-west coast SB.

The Packers and the Saints would make short work of the Patriots too and probably score alot more points than the Giants. They would win by a score of like 55-31.

They would, you got to be kidding, after the lousy performance of both the Packers and the Saints!

....And in a special way, should either ever visit Foxbourgh Stadium. The Pats would eat them alive!

They would beat the Pats that bad anywhere anytime. The best AFC team is not as good as the 4th seeded NFC team and we will finally have a team with a 9-7 regular season record win the Super Bowl.

Aren't the Jets headquartered in Florham Park, New Jersey?

This west coast kid really likes Tom Coughlin; he’s one hell of a coach. As an insider, I get to see some of the best coaching in basketball, but only wish I could see what Coughlin was doing.

There’s one true element to those State Farm commercials: the idiotic football fans.

The Giants ARE from NY originally...use to play in Yankee Stadium, for goodness sakes. Further, the part of NJ where they currently play is more like NY (now) than when they played in the old stadium in NYC. I ought to know...I moved away from my old “little town” a few years back. When I moved there was: no available parking on most streets (meters were starting to come in), bumper-to-bumper traffic in “suburban” north Jersey, prices and taxes through the roof, green areas disappearing everywhere, and a level of rudeness and rush-rush that had so overtaken the folks that, well, lil ol’ NJ had pretty much disappeared and become, like you said a “hell hole.”

All that being said, GO GIANTS!
