In reality Romney took a low, but highly effective shot at Newt with his allegatiion about Newt making 1.6 million lobbying for Fannie Mae. Romney follwed up in interviews with the “If you can’t take the heat...” bromide. Newt decided NOT to lay down. Now Mitt is taking the heat and all of a sudden the conversation is how we Conservatives are disparaging Capitalism..

The only problem with your assessment is that the ads against Newt were true. The same cannot be said about the anti-Bain video.

Oh really!...was Newt paid $1.6 million or $35,000.00 per month as he claims. Did he lobby or was he an advisor?

Once you open the can of worms, as Romney foolishly did, you will find that folks will not be interested in wading through the finer points and details of whether the anti-Bain video is true or not.

Point is...perception is reality for many, unfortunately.

GONG!

No less than the liberal rag, Washington Post, gave Romney's most vicious attack ad, 4 Pinocchio's!

All four attacks were lies!
