You are missing the point. Apparently on purpose.

No, I'm just not letting you reframe the argument to your strawman.

The argument is being made that Bain was "unethical" in it's business practices. Several posters have posted details showing that Bain was not the villain it's been portrayed as. No one has defined how they are applying the term ethical, or any of the pejortives being applied to venture capitalism.

None of us want Romney, but attacking him with lies and an assault on free enterprise is not only wrong it is self destructive. Romney will probably have a solid response to this attack at the next debate and it will probably propel him to the nomination. So much for your "ethical capitalism" and those who would wish to have the power to implement it.

No, the argument is that Romney is unethical, untrustworthy, greedy, and self aggrandizing beyond acceptable dimensions.

I think we’re getting pretty away from the original point. Romney was bragging about his experience at Bain making him more qualified than any of the other candidates for the presidency, especially his part in creating jobs. When challenged on job creation, he threw out the 100,000 jobs number. So we’re looking at Bain trying to reconcile that claim. Either he did or he didn’t. And if he didn’t then it’s just another Romney lie.

When it was pointed out that Bain also destroyed a lot of jobs, then Romney claimed the 100,000 jobs was “net, net.” Ok, if that’s true, how about backing up those claims with facts and figures. I think his boastful claims make makes his experience at Bain a valid issue. Let’s see him back up his claims.

We already know he ran to the left of Ted Kennedy on abortion, gay rights, gun control, global warming, etc, and governed as a liberal in Massachusetts leaving his state saddled with taxpayer funded abortion, gay marriage, liberal activist judges, high cost budget busting government subsidized healthcare and mandates against the citizens. These are indisputable facts on the record. And despite his protests to the contrary, RomneyCare, which he still brags about today, is all the proof we need of his big government progressivism. So, if now he’s claiming his experience at Bain proves he’s a fiscal conservative and a job creator, then he should have no trouble backing up his claims with facts. He should aggressively pursue this. Prove his accusers wrong.

He’s been further challenged on the fact that some of his profits were made by exploiting the taxpayers and or by running up the debts of some the companies he controlled through Bain, then taking out the cash for his investors leaving the companies crippled under high debt loads and facing eventual bankruptcy. If this is untrue, he should be able to prove it company by company. He has admitted some of his buyouts failed as we can’t be successful 100% of the time. Ok, let’s have a list of successes and failures, jobs created, jobs lost, dollars taken out by Bain, et al, taxpayer money lost, etc.

Does anyone have a spreadsheet of the companies involved?
