Not this defender. For me, it reinforces one of the few reasons to support Newt, with all his flaws -- have you EVER heard Romney admit to being wrong? (Or Rush, for that matter!!!?). Romney is still BRAGGING about his RomneyCare and doing his damndest to spin it as "conservative," though it is the very antithesis of limited government conservatism.
At least Gingrich has the humility and grace to admit his goofs. Not "flip-flops," as in saying one thing one week and blithely saying the opposite the next while pretending the former stance never existed, ala Romney, but "I was in error before, and I've seen the light."
At this point, it's pretty obvious (and I'm in company with Thomas Sowell here) that Gingrich is our best bet in terms of primary candidates. He's not perfect, but he's a whole helluva lot closer to it than Romney. Romney is a proven and committed statist, the ENEMY of liberty. For Rush not to START SAYING, as Sowell HAS, that between Gingrich and Romney it's NO CONTEST regardless of Newt's flaws and goofs, is perplexing and disappointing.
If anybody should be redfaced at Newt's admission of crossing the line, it should be his attackers.
The truth is that the Democrats are already planning their attack on Mitt, as a corporatist. They have started what they call, Democracy Schools, where they inform their minions about their individual rights that are being crushed by the corporative agenda. The local Democracy school is being sponsored by our Democrat Congressman, Rick Larsen. The classes are being conducted by an Agenda 21 group, that calls themselves, Sustainable Communities. There goal is to continue the OWS groups and direct their energy against Mitt Romney.
Never mind that Sustainable Communities is in the business and suppressing individual rights in favor of communal rights, that they are a progressive Agenda 21 group that doesn’t believe that people really own their own property.
