Or do you have a candidate you think would do more, and better, than Newt? If so, cool, though it would be nice to be enlightened as to why I should switch from Newt to someone else. But if all you have is despair, then ... maybe a gardening forum, or a sports forum or somesuch, would be a better place for you and for FR. Resigned despair is for losers.
More an exercise in reality.

You can cut the valley girl histrionics. My experience with any given candidate is that what I think he would do, could do, or should do doesn't come true when the candidate gets into office. George W. Bush was such a candidate, but there is no way I would have voted for the alternative.
I will be supportive is Newt gets the nomination. I suggest that whatever you think he would do, he probably won't. Newt says some nice things, and talks tough. Picture Newt on a couch with Pelosi.
I'm not going to elaborate, but I have fought losing battles, knowing that I was going to lose, resigned to losing, but fought anyway because it was the right thing to do. Time proved me right in some of those battles. I have fought and won, and fought and lost. But I fought nonetheless.
Thanks for the advice on what would be a better place for me, and for now, I will restrain from suggesting where you should go.
