Yup, it is, and if in fact the officer is suffering from PTSD, then he needs treatment.
However, he does not need to be put in a position of authority behind a gun, ever. Police force took their time, but eventually did the right thing in firing the guy. They should just be thankful that no one got hurt while they were dragging their feet.
If he got PTSD from a “line-of-duty” incident, and now is mentally incapable of performing his job - he is actually entitled to disablility retirement.

It can't be that obvious if Harless could have it for eight years and only have it "discovered" when his ass is in a sling....
I guarantee you the reason the "Police force took their time" was so they could tiptoe around the union!
