Here’s a trick I heard to keep your car from being broken into. Leave an empty holster on your dashboard.

I like the holster idea, here is one for you. I have a HUGE spiked dog collar on a chain laying by my front door. It appears that a GIANT dog got loose in the yard. I also have signs that say SECURITY DOG and BEWARE OF DOG.

I have 4 real dogs but they would only warn me that some one is here and would not bite.

When camping or hiking in a particularly remote area it can be helpful to leave empty beer cans and ammo boxes lying around the dash and front seats of your vehicle. It sends a certain message to would-be thieves and vandals.
