The United States is moving thousands of troops to Israel for a joint military exercise. It comes against the backdrop of increasing tensions in the Persian Gulf over Iran's threat to block the crucial Hormuz Strait. Some analysts have voiced fears it could be part of a build-up to a military strike on Iran.
The United States and Israel say that they will be testing various missiles in what Israel has described as its largest military exercise ever. Iranian officials have reportedly said that this is a blatant sign that Israel is planning to attack Iran, a claim that Israel denies.
The United States has implemented sanctions against Iran, and the European Union is considering doing the same.

Ron Paul is sad.
Saw this reported in Debka and the Jerusalem Post late last week but this is the first “mainstream” news source reporting it. Where are the code pinko’s? Shouldn’t they be out marching on the White House or something?
Toward which direction are their weapons aimed?
And they probably never even read Revelations
Whoopi ding dong do - another war. We’re broke now and what will that leave us? Politicians do love their wars that they rarely if ever participate in.
Instead of the USA giving out foreign aid, let’s start sending bills to these countries that we are protecting, because when it comes to protecting our own borders and shore, there ain’t going to be anything left.
Based on the pattern of political donations coming from military servicemen Paul isn’t the only one. They and their families are rightfully sick of this. We’ve been in war for 10 years solid and we’re broke. Or we could start requiring the public to start paying for them with a war tax. That will soon indicate if there is any political support.
Like the Spanish-American War tax on our phone bills until recently?
No attetion/reporting on the DoD sites either.
Thanks a lot, Geo. W. Bush, for handing Iraq over to the Iranian Shiite fanatics. A real act of brilliance, baseball-playing Yalie fool.

Whatever the costs the Iran threat must be removed. W had 8 years to accomplish that, unfortunately he was too busy nation-building Iraq. Iraq was never suppose to be this 10year project,it should have been a launching pad to strike Iran nuke program. If Obama can remove that threat all the better. Unfortunately the Bush administration of 8 years is a gift which keeps on giving : starting from Obama winning elections.
To people who say that Iran war is too expensive, first only idiot would occupy the country: their nuclear, scientific, and military capabilities can be very effectively destroyed from Air and with US of SOF,and limited Marine Corp, airBorne deployment. The cost of inaction is this: Iran with a Nuke.
After they acquire at-least 10 nuclear devices. They will politely ask US to withdraw all our forces from the region. If US will fail to do so then Iran with their proxies think Hizbolla ,alqaida will start harassing US troops everywhere: a few dozen will be killed each day all over mideast. Due to public pressure at home, US will opt to cut their losses and withdraw, instead of hitting Iran since that will result in Nuclear retaliation. Iran can do a smart thing and tell US that we have placed a number of nuclear devices in your major cities, if you hit us - we will blow them up. Sure US can retaliate against Tehran with a Nuke but that will not bring back millions dead in NYC or LA. Thus US president no matter who it is, will most likely withdraw. Iran through their proxies and directly will take over most of Mideast ,minus Israel (armored invasions, overthrow of governments,rebellions,etc..).
With Israel surrounded on all sides, they will unleash daily bombardment of Israel’s cities, killing dozens each day and forcing the whole country in bomb shelters. No country or population can live in that state for a long time. Israel will be limited in their retaliation against Iran since Iran can hit Israeli cities with a nuke, so the population will be faced with some hard choices:leave the country,or face a nuclear war. The above scenario ignores the fact of Arabs like Saudis and Egypt getting Nukes, which will result in even quicker Nuclear exchange in mid-east which will pull in the whole world. Unfortunately the price of inaction, is the Whole World destruction, the price of action is thousands dead on our side and Israel, and 10’s of billions in financial cost. The choice, even taking into account the huge expense,is to take out Iran nukes.
