It is hard when you have been the executive, like Daley was for so many years, to all of a sudden take orders. I’m guessing it is hard for Daley to be a follower?
Not only is Daley not used to taking orders, but from what I gather his advice was never heeded, he was always in a very small minority position among the top WH staff. On the other hand, he could be going back to Chicago to prepare for a challenge to the election.
I think he sees the writing on the wall and knows there is no future for him in the Obama Administration because there is no future Obama Administration.
