They are Catholics.

Evangelicals are a category of their own, as are Catholics.

Value judgement comments such as can’t Catholics be evangelical merely confuse.

However a Catholic conducts himself or herself, he or she is still a Catholic.

Evangelicals are a seperate, recognized category.

They don’t believe in the Pope and other aspects of Catholicism.

And Catholics do not accept some of the basic tenets of Evangelicals.

This isn’t hair splitting. It’s the real world...the religious world, that is.

Interesting, if you said protestant I could agree with you. Evangelical simply means that you believe certain doctrinal statements about the faith, so catholics can be evangelical.

Evangelical means being vocal about your Faith in Christ.

Evangelical came to be about 200 years ago coming from revivals in the North Atlantic Anglo World. (ONE definition)

There are Many definitions of Evangelical and could be used with Catholics as well. :)
