It is with great sadness that we must report the loss of our dear friend Tony Blankley. Tony passed away Saturday after a long battle with stomach cancer.
Tony was a longtime friend of our parent organization the Media Research Center, serving as one of MRC's DisHonors Awards judges in the past few years. Tony's syndicated column was also published on NewsBusters.
Tony was a veteran warrior for the conservative movement having served as a speechwriter for the Reagan administration, as press secretary to Speaker Newt Gingrich, as editorial page editor for the Washington Times from 2002-2007, and as a visiting senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation.
He will be greatly missed by us and by countless others in the conservative movement. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tony's family and friends.

RIP...
I am shocked by this news. I just saw him a while back on a news program discussion panel. I had no idea he was sick. What a terrible loss. This guy had some great insights. RIP.
I missed the previous post, so thanks for this. I always enjoyed hearing his opinions and analysis.
Prayers for the comfort of his family.
RIP Mr. Blankley.
Darn, he is a loss.
Me too. I remember seeing him recently, I dont remember where but it seems pretty recent. I had no idea he was sick. This is indeed terrible news. He will be missed. RIP
Tony was a class act. My first recollection of him seems to be about the time of the ‘94 Contract with America. He may have been on the American scene before that, but I was not aware of him. If memory serves, I recall him being very fair and even-handed in his contacts with Newt and the Conservatives who were giving the ‘rats a fit back then.
RIP. Tony was one of the good guys.
Another Anthony to be missed. So sad. May Mr. Blankley Rest In Peace and our prayers are with his loved ones. Prayers for Tony Snow’s loved ones too.
Indeed, he was one of the good guys. I’ll miss him. RIP Tony and love and comfort to his family and friends!
That must have been the same show I saw. Wondered then where he had been but he looked a lot different. Now I know why.
RIP Mr. Tony Blankley
My sentiments exactly.
Wow. This is very sad news. RIP.
I’m thinking I saw him on Larry Kudlows program. I regularly watch that during diner.
He was one of the good guys.
RIP....
I am so sorry he is no longer with us. Tony’s passing is a loss to this world. However, he is in a place of peace and praise.
Wow! I didn’t even know he was sick. RIP Tony. Yours was a voice of reason in the chaotic world of politics.
This is a terrible shock!! I`m only learning of this now. Just damn... RIP Tony..
