Mere hours following the antagonistic ABC interrogations, David Gregory gets his turn, hoping for verbal pyrotechnics Sunday morning.

However, I truly believe that President Bush did not fight back because of his understanding of what respect for the office of the presidency means.
I don't agree with his refusal to defend himself against the rotten left, but he thought he just needed to do his job and let the chips fall where they may.
History will tell us whether that was an overall negative or a positive. I truly don't know.
It’s a good idea (part time congress) and term limits is another good idea. Both ideas would require acceptance by people who don’t want it and who are in charge.
However, it doesn’t hurt to throw it out there as something to think about for the future.
George W. Bush took the high road and didn’t find many people there.
I think you might be right, but Huntsman is even smarmier than Romney. That is admittedly a shallow observation and not one on the merits of the man, but it’s true. And I suspect that many other voters feel the same icky vibes.
These Mega-Perry-Haters remind me so much of grade school playground incidents where a new kid, or a kid that wasn't a member of the clique would be mercilessly picked on by the in-crowd. They fear a kid that doesn't jump through hoops to kiss their butts, and they know they have to take him down early before he gives other kids ideas.
They have lots of minions that sit at their computers and lob bombs at Perry by trying to demoralize his supporters. They know that Perry's supporters are not just supporting the latest flash-in-the-pan candidate. That's what irks them so much! The loyalty of Perry's supporters eats them alive - and yes, they are jealous of it.
The liberals, the media, the GOP establishment, and the myriad of Beltway Groupies that make big bucks off of scamming the poor taxpayer don't want some cowboy ridin' in to try to lasso them out DC. None of them want things to change - PERRY DOES.
I’m neither paunchy nor bald, but I am a Texan who once loved Perry and have through the years been double-crossed by him too many times. Not a supporter, not at all.
That said, and I hate to say it, were Perry to catch fire in S. Carolina, he might have the best chance of the bunch of beating Obama in November. He is a masterful politician.
I missed the debate.
Thankfully MSNBC is re airing it now!
Of course. George W. Bush comes from a background that fervently believes in humble public service. But somehow - maybe by having a surrogate "attack dog" he could have found a way to counter the relentless smears coming his way. Like water dripping on a stone, eventually it does take its toll.
I think his not-fighting-back laid the path for the upset in the 2006 election, and that was the beginning of it. Bush has a mixed legacy, but I am thankful he was in charge after 911
Watching the debate video now. Romney bragging about what a small government conservative he was as governor. Right. How about ObamaCare, er, I mean RomneyCare!
Towards the end starting with Gregory’s question at 10:17:31:00
It wasn’t a “YOU LIE!!” moment, rather Romney kept digging a hole when he began his response at 10:19:10:00
(And he would not shut up)
Newt tells Romney to drop the pious baloney! LOL!
Newt is certainly NO David...the attempted comparison and excusing of his adulterous ways is pretty sick.
Well said.
In fact, many times he stood alone.
Perry reaches out to the Teaparty and reminds us what it’s about.
You’re in for some real treats by Newt!
Santorum does well too and ditto for Perry!
Mitt gets hit hard, for a change and caught lying!
I hope you stay to watch Chris Matthews rip Romney to shreds for his huge lie! Newt gave him the rope and Romney took it....LOL.
He is a godly man.
He is a patriotic man
The third thing he is, is.......ummm.........Sorry. I forgot. Ooops!
hank
What I remember most about 2006, was that not one Republican member of Congress stood behind the President. No one stood up for the troops in Iraq, and no one stood up for the necessity of the War on Terror.
They all ran and hid. I think if some of them had stood up against the leftist attacks, we might not have lost Congress.
On top of that, there was clearly no one willing to be the "attack dog" that he needed. It was all unfortunate.
Cute.
Give it a rest.
Congrats on staying in shape.
I lost it for a minute there. I agree with you about Perry having the best chance.
He’s not only a master politician but a reliable conservative with a proven record.
A lot of Texans are ticked off at him for various things.
In 11 years if you haven’t ticked somebody off, you’re not doing your job.
On balance, I’d say he’s been a great governor.
