I think the next 4 years have the potential to be a very dark time for the U.S.. Those entrenched do not give up power so easily.
At least 16.4 million firearms were sold in America in 2011, although there is not a one-to-one correlation between background checks and the number of guns sold because some customers buy multiple firearms, and some of the checks involve people reclaiming a firearm they previously had pawned.
Every Republican candidate, except for Romney, is proof the Tea Party is alive. It didn’t die; it’s stronger than ever. And not having an anointed leader is key to the Tea Party’s continued success. A single, recognized leader can be coopted; a mass of individuals, less so.
The Tea Party was killed by a cabal of the RNC and the DNC. They destroyed it with lies and by breaking its supporters. People believed they were racist yahoos who spit on black people (it never happened) but it wasn’t about truth—it was about power. They broke Sarah Palin, they pulled apart Glen Beck, they limited the movement until it is a hollow shell of itself. But, I fear they were wrong and in the end the Tea Party will spawn a new movement —maybe a 3rd Party or a reform movement within the GOP. The RINO Party won the battle—and will force Mitten down our throat—but they have not won the war.
