This is called “bait and switch”. People are barely able to get by now, thanks to energy and food prices skyrocketing. The last thing that any elderly person needs to hear is that they may be getting LESS money to make ends meet. To me, this proposal sounds daft. Talk about cutting any government agency, but not SS! There is a whole slew of agencies to cut. EPA, DOE, IRS, just to name a couple.... This is definitely not going to be a good thing for Santorum.
He simply can’t tell people that they won’t get their money back. I really am stunned that he’s serious.
