Mass. calls for day without name calling in school

BOSTON—As part of the state's anti-bullying efforts in public schools, Gov. Deval Patrick has designated Jan. 25 as "No Name Calling Day" in Massachusetts.

Are these people morons?
They don’t have the least inking of what kids are about.
If you tell kids they can’t swear or cuss for a day, guess what they are going to do?
It will have the opposite effect — kids will swear more than ever on that day.
Stop trying to brainwash our kids!

This is a worthy initiative by the good Governor.
Here in Massachusetts, bullying has become a major problem in my daughter’s schools and I for one am sick to death of hearing, on a daily basis, stories of humiliation and intimidation directed at the students...

A chief pet peeve of mine, too. The common usage of the word "like" is appalling.

Coupe Deval Patrick with a former MA governor who, Thank God, did not win the presidency. Currently Patrick's lt gov, Tim "Crash" Murray (or Hurry Murray) is in a controversy for driving 108 mph without being belted in and crashing into rocks (he managed to survive, the state-owned car was prob. built like a tank) and having a suspicious story.
