Do you know why the German Navy Admiral Raeder got off lightly at Nuremberg? There was some interesting testimony from American Admirals. It appeared that there were quite a few indecent American sailors in the Pacific Theater.
In the heat of battle, lots of things happen that shouldn't happen. It's nothing to be proud of. Looking back afterwards, I'm sure quite a few had regrets.
