Regarding Obamacare and government funding for abortion, I agree with you that it needs to be cut off because federal government has no business in our personal lives and that should be the talking points of our presidential candidates.
I'm a big state-rights guy. For example, federal government should have no business whatsoever with welfare, food stamps, public housing and the like. If the states want to put together welfare systems and if their citizens vote it in, so be it. But this is not a federal government role.
Well, I apologize for that. Normally, I would agree with you, but with O-Care needing to be dismantled we really need someone who’s solid on abortion.
I don’t want a president who ‘does stuff’, but we need to dump O-care ASAP. Santorums already came out swinging saying that it makes everyone dependent on the feds, and he’s got that right.
As for abortion being a states right issue, I have to disagree here. Unborn children are fully persons, and state lines isn’t going to change this. You can’t have a child be a person in New Jersey and not a person in New York State.
There are certain constitutional obligations for the federal government, and protecting the right to life of the unborn I would argue falls under the 14th.
Peace + Blessings,
