Actually the dispatcher is right to warn the boy to be careful of whom hes shooting.

Supposing the deputy comes running around the corner and the kid is primed to shoot the first thing he sees?

The dispatcher wants the kid to warn him first because the dispatcher knows when the deputy has arrived via radio contact.

“Actually the dispatcher is right to warn the boy to be careful of whom hes shooting.”

You need to read exactly what the dispatcher said! She didn’t say to be careful, she told him he was not to fire his weapon while she had him on the phone!

“Do not, while I’m on the phone, do not fire that firearm, OK?’ the dispatcher says”

So she did not issue a warning as you suggest, but rather she demanded that she refrain from firing his weapon. She should be fired herself!

Dain, I agree. I believe the intent and concern of the dispatcher was to hopefully prevent the kid accidentally shooting the cop or vice versa. I don’t agree with the way it was phrased, though. The dispatcher should have ensured that the kid knew when the LEO was on property, then give the warning to not shoot.

Sometimes it’s hard to the the supposed good guys from the bad guys.

This afternoon I checked my six at a traffic light and saw a thuggish-looking (do-rag or backwards cap) individual in the car stopped behind me. Took me a couple of seconds to notice he was driving a police car.
