My wife worked as a consultant to Boeing. As a labor mediator. The Union folk in Kansas were easy to work with, but the ones in WA were terrible. As you may remember,,Boeing just had to promise to preserve jobs in WA as a cost of being able to continue to use their new plant in the Carolina’s. I think the folks in Kansas just lost out in the Obama power play to keep the militant unions of WA state in business.

So, if I get your drift, they have to keep up the number of jobs in Washington to appease the unions about the new facility on NC? And the jobs came at Kansas' expense?

Wow. Talk about corruption deep in the bones...

I gotta believe, the first chance they get, they will pull the rug out from under Washington State as well. The priority is getting the Carolina plant up and running.

Looks like only about 100 of the jobs will end up in Washington: Wichita closure to bring 100 Boeing jobs here
