The NAACP on Wednesday blasted Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum for recently singling out blacks for receiving federal benefits, calling his remarks "inaccurate and outrageous."
At a campaign stop in Sioux City, Iowa on Sunday, Santorum was talking about entitlement reform when he said, "I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money; I want to give them the opportunity to go out and earn the money."
NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said in a statement Wednesday that "Santorum's targeting of African Americans is inaccurate and outrageous, and lifts up old race-based stereotypes about public assistance."

As a racial percentage, there’s a higher percentage of blacks getting welfare than whites. It’s an accurate assessment, not an incorrect stereotype.

"I don't want to make black people's lives better by giving them somebody else's money..." Some black commentator mentioned this quote (without the remainder of the quote, of course), and hautingly said "Santorum's gonna have to ANSWER for THAT!"

As a corrolary, people use inaccurate stereotypes to bring others down.
Using stereotypes that are accurate is just stating the obvious truth.

I agree with Santorum’s larger point, but he could have made the point better without singling out any particular group of people.

This is a lie by the NALCP. Santorum denies saying this and there is no evidence that he did say “Black” in that talk. More MSM smears created out of whole cloth for a Conservative candidate.

Benjamin Todd Jealous needs to get his hearing checked ASAP. Santorum never said the word, “blacks” in his remarks.

The flack is always heaviest when you are right on the target....
It's avoided in politically-correct discourse today, but the FACTS remain as the elephant in the room.
DEAL WITH IT; to Hell with sensitivity and political-correctness.

This statement is NOT true; typical of racist liberals, quoting a lie then painting their opponents with that lie and demanding that they apologize and grovel for “forgiveness” over their racism.

O’Reilly brought up the exact statement on his much-touted “interview” with Santorum just now. The candidate just came from NOWHERE to practically win Iowa, Bill. You self-praised the interview after the “talking points” memo coming out of the break. THAT was the WORST “interview” I have ever seen.
Go Rick!

Here comes that train rolling down the track, the bad mouthers getting started. It’s not surprising that the blacks start first their plantation owners, the Democrats told them to.
We will see between now and New Hampshire how Santorum holds up to the BS.Being close to the lead now he will catch the crap. The media of course is in on the mud throwing.

All things are racial to the left. John Conyers is threatening the Michigan governor with bringing in his personal friends Obama and Holder. He's already got Jesse Jackson singing "we shall overcome" and saying "This ain't Alabama"
"It just so happens that I have a closer relationship with the 44th President of the United States and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, than I have ever had with anybody in the Washington White House," he said, failing to mention the public disputes he has had with President Barack Obama.

And in a related story
Conyers said the expanded law is "seriously flawed" and said it unfairly targets communities with large numbers of minority group members.

Huffingtonpost began to paint Santorum as a racist a few days ago. Rove was just on O’Reilly saying Santorum has a tendancy to say things that get him into trouble such as this. They also said Gingrich looked angry and defeated last night and “someone told Rove he looks enraged and might as well be donning a full ski mask and holding a chain saw in his hand...”
