“Hard to figure why Santorum is now surging - he did so poorly in the debates - so his appeal must be at the meet & greet retail level.”
I don’t think it’s hard. He’s the last anti-Romney left that hasn’t been (figuratively) beaten to a pulp by the media or the other candidates.
But, once he rises to the top, HE’LL be relentlessly attacked TOO, until the only “clear and safe” candidate standing is... surprise! Mitt Romney.
THEN, once Romney is our candidate, the left will try and entice Paul to go third party and “split” our vote. If that doesn’t work, they’ll pull whatever it is they have on Romney out of the drawer and use it, leaving a clear path for the re-election of the worst President in the history of the United States.
By George - I think you’ve got it!!
If the ‘drop-outs’ would embrace your assessment and lend their support and loud vocals to the last ‘anti-Romney’ standing - it could make a difference.
Santorum was horrible in the debates. After seeing his snooty, snide performances, I can’t get behind him. I simply don’t like him and don’t think he has a chance in Hades of beating Obama.
I was a big Michelle fan until I saw her in the debates. She proved herself to not be the person I thought she was. I’ll find it hard to ever believe anything she says again.
The debates were very telling. I’m praying for a Newt or Perry nomination.
