Moral of these stories: Don’t ask, don’t tell.
Unfortunately, you have to go through a metal detector if you want to go up to the observation deck of the ESB. You don't discover that until you've been in line a while. I had to surrender a small pocket knife I had on me. I was able to reclaim it when I came back down, but it was a big hassle.
