Well he is my Senator and voted for gays in the military. I guess that is not considered a disaster to you but to me it is. Just wait and see.....

He’s my senator too. He voiced support for the repeal but he did not take office when it was repealed in December 2010. He was sworn in January 2011.....

Santorum gave the dems the vote needed to pass obamacare.

Not really. If you recall, Sphincter didn't bail untill Toomey announce a Primary challenge and his reelection polls tanked. If anything, Toomey caused him to defect and vote with the Rats. Toomey was beyond a longshot to win Arlens seat in '04. Pat was barely known outside of the Lehigh Valley and would not have had a chance money wise. He spent a lot of time between '04 and '10 to gain enough name recognition and money to win the squeeker he ended up having.

If it wasn't for Sestak the Commie knocking Arlen out of the Rat race, I would bet Arlen would have won again here in PA. He had a huge constituent relations machine and this is an inherently Blue state.

Well, I was and remain pretty pissed off about that little episode, but does it really have me wanting to vote for someone tht is to Santorums’ left?

Not really.

As a resident of PA, I don’t believe that it’s inherently blue. I’d say that for presidential races because that’s when Philadelphia and Pittsburgh really come out in force.

“Liberals like you bring it up daily.”

He’s been here onger than a decade. I think if he were a Liberal, he’d have been zotted by now.

Well support is not great either. Why people are giving Santorum such a bad time for one mistake is beyond me. Quite frankly I am glad there is not much to hold Santorum on. It will be very difficult for Obama to bash Santorum.

" Unless ? they actually supported what Toomey supported, the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t tell... and the repeal of the ban on sodomy and bestiality in the military. "

How come they defend Toomey ? but bash Rick for endorsing Spector ?
Are they defending the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell ? and the repeal of the ban in the military of sodomy and bestiality ?

In hindsight, considering that we got Alito out of the deal on the Supreme Court, and Toomey supported those repeals of those bans in the military, Rick Santorum made the right choice.

Those who wanted Toomey and not Spector, also support the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't tell, and the repeal of the ban in the military of sodomy and bestiality.. there is no other way to put it.... we know your agenda...

So ? you don’t think the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and the repeal of the ban in the military of sodomy and bestiality are not a disaster ?

Santorum supported Spector becuase he is an honorable man. It was spector who did everything he could to help Santorum in the first place in ‘94. They worked to gether well and Santorum owed him. He couldnt of done anything else.

rightfully out of office?

Please explain why it was better to have Bob Casey, a liberal DEMOCRAT in the Senate from Pennsylvania.

This is the stuff that drives me crazy, why are there defenders of Bob Casey, DEMOCRAT claiming he is better in the senate than the REPUBLICAN Santorum? I honestly do not understand the hate of Santorum and the support (rightfully out of office) of Bob Casey who defeated him in the election.

You can’t claim that you really don’t support Bob Casey when you supported him for Senate. Which other liberal democrats do you support?

acorn had a whole lot to do with that. HUGE. And maybe you don’t remember the foul accusation that Santorum didn’t even really live in PA. He was under total seige from rhe left. TOTAL. Not only that but the GOP refused to fund him. They abandoned him. And he wasn’t the only Republican to lose that year. It was a nearly dem sweep thanks to acorn and voter fraud, not to mention pubbie spending gone wild. And I don’t blame Santorum for specter. I blame Bush who PERSONALLY ‘persuaded’ Santorum to endorse the bastich.

The dynamics have changed now. Did you forget who is at the head of the evil party?

PA has gone from blue to red in a sweeping change at all levels in the state in a matter of two election cycles.

You’re really comparing Toomey’s record and Specter’s? Maybe you should look at Toomey’s actual voting record. Also, Santorum’s record will tell you about many of the pork barrel projects he supported in Congress.

" He’s my senator too. He voiced support for the repeal but he did not take office when it was repealed in December 2010 "

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh , I got it now, " he voiced support " , so that disqualifies him ?
However, his ( * convictions * ) of supporting gay's in the military is a very important thing.
So ? he is disqualified because he was not able to actually vote for it, but, his convictions in his heart tell him to support it... however, no one can bash Toomey for it...

But ? condemn Santorum for endorsing Spector ?

Ok, I got it... do as I say, and not as I do... I got it now...
