When his pain medication is due he is restless and makes a kind of mewling sound. Thankfully, he responds to the medication fairly quickly, in about 20 minutes or so. He's alert, except for the first few hours after receiving his pain pills, when he sleeps quite peacefully.
He's 11, and weighs 113 pounds, and we did everything we could to avoid putting him through surgery, but finally had to accept the fact that he was not going to recover without it. He's been such a trouper through all of this.

Aw, bless his sweetest heart. He needs his pain medication. You’ll both feel better tomorrow when you can take him in for a post-op examination. I feel so badly for him. Poor guy. Poor big guy.
