I guess my point is if enough people scam the system the women you spoke of will LOSE her $679 a month. And the vet missing a few limbs will lose his disability and the woman dying of cancer will lose her check. These people have a right to be protected.

The folks scamming the system will be fine - many are working under the table for cash now ( if you doubt me, run an ad for part time help...) I don't begrudge your friend. I hope there will be people who will take her in when scammers bankrupt the system...

I live in Las Vegas Valley. If there ever was a city for scammers, it’s here.

Working under the table for cash is the norm here. Doing it while still being “disabled” is an art in itself.

The homeless population here is about 16,000, which is a small city. The clever scammers get the housing while those in true need are forever applying and being denied.
