She said they were Occupying the bridge, so the CG personnel couldn’t leave the base without Causing Offense. (Not that Anoreth hesitates to Cause Offense, but someone higher-up decided they shouldn’t.) They were going to get beer, engage in mockery, and take pictures, last I heard.

A couple of years ago a mob of immigration protesters came marching down 2d Avenue toward the federal building, then made a sudden beeline for our building instead (we have immigration court in our building.) They occupied the lobby and refused to allow access in or out.
We went downstairs in spite of the managers’ dire warnings and engaged on proper mockery. (Well, those of us who like fun went downstairs. The managers were all tense and serious.)
It was fun!
