Russia's Foreign Ministry said Friday that the comments from Arab League observers in Syria sent to check whether government forces have halted violence against protesters showed that the situation in the country was "reassuring."
"Judging by the public statements made by the chief of the mission M. Al-Dabi, who in the first of his visits went to the city of Homs...the situation seems to be reassuring," the ministry said in a statement on its website.
The ministry said that Moscow was counting on the team's "professionalism and impartiality."

Sudanese war criminal Mustafa al-Dabi was appointed by the Arab League to head up their so-called monitors. The Free Syrian Army (Syrian soldiers who have turned on the regime) has called off their attacks on “security forces” while the monitors are there — big mistake, they need to get al-Dabi with a head shot ASAP. But of course, the Turks are big allies of the Sudanese Islamofascists, and host the FSA, so...
Thanks for pointing that out. Exactly what are they reassuring the Ruskies of? Commies and Islamic terrorists working together... Odd. I guess it confirms our suspicions that Oil is the new currency of the globe and alignments to fix prices will circumvent sanity and reason. I must say, Glenn Beck was the first person I heard to talk of these alignments, I thought he was exaggerating.
The Russians want their sole remaining ally — the Assad regime — to remain in power, that’s what they’re talking about here.
