I so hate that pic of Meghan.
I breasted three kids and have never understood this militant breast feeding fad to be in other peoples face with it. What’s wrong with being discreet? Never in a million years would I have just whipped it out in public. There is something to be said for being discreet.
Thank you for that.
The deeper I got into third world countries, the more common it was to see. As far as I'm concerned it isn't a spectator event. I'm inclined to think that in the US, it's an ego thing, showing the rest of the world what "good mothers" they are
“.....militant breast feeding....” <<<
FINEST CUT-TO-THE-CHASE OBSERVATION OF THE DAY. SPOT ON AND INCISIVE! (Hammer meets nail.) Perfectly said, KG.
I’ve whipped it out in public only to hear screams as people ran for the exits!
I understand there is often a need to breast feed in public but I know for a fact that is can be done discretely.
I was seated next to a young woman with an infant in a small commuter plane. She explained that she had to nurse her baby during takeoff and landing to protect his ears. (I told her that all I had was some chewing gum LOL.)
I honestly could not tell if she did it or not. I guess she "whooped it out" at least twice while sitting shoulder to shoulder with me without me knowing.
I still had my gum.
My wife never breast fed our children and they turned out pretty well.So what harm could a milked bottle or a formula do once in a while for the breast feeding aficionado’s.
Amen, KansasGirl!
I nursed three as well. The militant, in your face Moms would not like me. It was all about making my life easier. No bottles to warm, wash or rinse. No [expensive] formula to mix.
To make up for the fact that my husband never had to do any middle of the night feedings, I would always lay in bed just long enough for the crying to wake him to wake up. :)
