Santorum spars with Sharpton on MSNBC
The Hill ^ | December 29, 2011 | Geneva Sands-Sadowitz

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum might have gotten a boost in the polls Thursday morning just by appearing on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" — at least, according to Rev. Al Sharpton. During the interview Santorum was challenged by Sharpton, who hosts another talk show on MSNBC, on how he would handle a crisis better than President Obama.

Sharpton, a Democrat and long-time champion of liberal causes, joked that their on-air debate would actually lead to an increase in Santorum's support and momentum in Iowa.

"I can argue with you about some of your ugly statements on the president and all of that, but that would probably help you in the primarily if you and I got in an argument this morning," said Sharpton before asking his question.

"Go head, Al. Give it to me, Al," responded Santorum, laughing.

"Well, you said some despicable and ugly things, but we'll do that on 'Politics Nation' one night, don't let me help you win the caucus," added Sharpton, referring to his own TV show.

He also should have asked Sharpton if the suit he was wearing was actually his.

""Well, you said some despicable and ugly things, but we'll do that on 'Politics Nation' one night, don't let me help you win the caucus,""

If Sharpton had ANYTHING he would use it. He resorts to some cryptic lie of an allusion hoping the mere suggestion is damaging.

Sharpton is one who is always seeking TV face time, be it Tawana Brawley or the Duke University Lacrosse players. And when his position is proven to be bogus, he just melts away without so much as an apology. He has no morals.

I don't understand why every Republican that every goes on Al's show doesn't ask him how Tawana scamed him, why he hates Jews and if he's paid all his taxes!

MSNBC really scraped the bottom of the black barrel to come up with this loser.

How indulgent of Santorum to appear as if this venue mattered to anyone, but Marxists. Ridiculous and insulting to see Santorum so over play his desperation. A sure sign of a colossal flounder. A Bachmann-like blunder comes to mind.

It was a Battle Of Wits but Sharpton was accused of Assault With A Dead Weapon.

“How about the ugly things that Sharpton said that got people killed at Freddie’s Fashion Mart and Crown Heights?”

Zackly!

But it is not “politically correct” to recall that Sharpton apparently incited a mass murder at Freddies Fashion Mart in 1995

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Sharpton

“Roland James Smith, Jr., 51, a Harlem resident with a criminal record going back 30 years, walked into Freddy’s Fashion Mart, clothing store at 272 West 125th Street, pulled out a gun, ordered all the black customers to leave, spilled paint thinner on several bins of clothing and set them on fire — a fire that resulted in killing 8 people including Smith.

Smith had been part of a group of picketers, led by Al Sharpton , head of the National Action Network, protesting the white owner of Freddies Fashion Mart plans to evict his black sub tenant.

The picketing, which had gone on for months, had led Harari to seek relief with the State Supreme Court. In papers filed just one day before the fire, he said, “Recently, the protesters have made motions of striking a match and throwing it on outside clothing displays or in the doorway of the store.”

An affidavit by Kareem Brunner, a black security guard killed in the blaze, said that he had been called a “cracker lover” and “would get mine as a traitor [to the black race].” Brunner, was the only black that Smith did not order out of the store before setting it afire.

Store manager, Steve Brodsky, described how a particularly vicious demonstrator called Shabazz would force his way into the store, pushing Brodsky aside and shout “I will be back to burn the Jew store down — burn, burn, burn.”

That Sharpton has a talk show on MSNBC is an example of the total ethical and moral bankruptcy the Corrupt Liberal Media in the USA today.

“Liberalism” has killed journalism.

Al Sharpton has the never to say, “Well, you said some despicable and ugly things...” to Santorum?

What chutzpah. Talk about the proverbial black pot.

Well, it shows a total lack of good judgement. He cared more about the party than his principles and that is why the GOP cannont govern with the establishment types.

" The only problem with Santorum in Pa. is that he backed RINO Specter over Toomey. "

People keep saying this like a broken record, for your information, Pat Toomey didn't turn out to be such a good choice after all.
He supported and voted for the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't tell in the military.
He also voted for the repeal of the ban on bestiality and sodomy in the military.

This is what I don’t understand. Why in the world would a GOP Presidential candidate be anywhere near that racist Al Sharpton?

I’m supporting Newt, but I think this is a good move for Santorum. How can he possibly lose with GOP primary voters by going head-to-head with Sharpton?

” How can he possibly lose with GOP primary voters by going head-to-head with Sharpton?” <<

I am trying to figure out what he possibly has to gain by indulging Sharpton. Santorum insults conservatives who have been griping for years that Republicans have no self respect, or respect for us, when they agree to be used as cannon fodder for Marxists promoting Marxism on Marxist programs, run by anti-American suits. Just how much possible support can Santorum gather from the Sharpton communist leaning gang that would justify such a bonehead decision to appear there, at the expense of conservatives who viscerally object. But, that’s just me.

You really don’t see how he could benefit?

Remember when Newt was at 3 to 5% in the polls? Do you remember how he started rising? By ripping into people like Chris Wallace and Maria Bartolomo, that’s how.

I haven’t seen the clip, but if he went on Sharpton’s show and tore him to shreds, do you really not see how that would endear him to conservatives? Really?

Hank

Ask him how’s progress going on his Bible. Afterall, as he said, King James has his own version of the Bible, why cant I ? And in his Bible, no doubt, Noah gets a government agency to build a boat for him and feeds the animals using food stamps. And Allen West is the Fallen Angel himself. And Jesus’s earliest followers were po’ blacks oppressed by rich white Roman corporations and tried to get the Romans to give them welfare.

Hank, that was in a debate setting, known as the field of competition. Newt took on the panelists on that field. Newt does not pander out of desperation for exposure to the enemy camp. Santorum obviously does. Newt has no supporters anywhere in sight on Al Sharpton’s zoo hour, and no interest whatsoever in being seen trading barbs with a Marxist simply to serve as entertainment for the Marxist host’s followers, composed of more Marxists.

The settings are quite different. The field is the field. MSNBC, via Sharpton, is the dumpster. It is quite unbecoming for the serious minded candidate to appear, with any grace anyway, in a dumpster.

What are you talking about??? These votes you speak of occurred during the lame duck congress in December 2010. So how could Toomey have voted on these issues when he hadn’t even been sworn yet as a senator???
