You want bipartisanship with socialists?

With people who lie about conservatives and Republicans every time their lips move?

Who only want to grow the government and wage class warfare until it hurts?

No wonder you said the idea of a part time Congress is laughable.

Bipartisanship is what is laughable.

Like Rush says, we have to defeat these people. There is no other way.

The Blue Dogs were always a bit of a joke, but now there are very few left.

Texas has a part time legislature. We are as big and as complex as many countries. We have the 13th largest economy in the world if we were a country.

There’s nothing laughable about that.
It works, with a part time legislature.

It saves tons of money.

It keeps them out of our business because they don’t have time to meddle so much in our lives.

They have to live under the laws they pass.

They have real jobs. The pay is only $600/mo.

“I’m still trying to figure out WHAT credentials and experience Romney has that anyone thinks will sell in the general election and help him be a good president? I haven’t heard one thing.”

You make a good point about mittens being able to lose the race all by himself. With Ron Paul as a 3rd party candidate, who knows? Mittens might even finish 3rd. As for mittens and his credentials, I’d be about the last person to ask about that, to the extent any qualifications exist. I guess he meets the Constitutional requirements. That’s about all I can see.

I sure hope there is a surge for Santorum. So far this field of candidate has me physically ill. Kind of the same feeling I had after the last presidential election.

Believe me, I like Santorum. The only problem is that he has a Eddie Haskell personality and appearance. I wish it weren't the case.

I also like Gingrich. The only problem is that he has a geriatric persona that will not bring in mass appeal in a general election. I wish it weren't the case. He was also BOOTED out of leadership by his own party. Axelrod will drive this theme home, over and over.

Bachmann, well I like her too. I don't think her charisma or personality is sufficient to win. I wish it weren't the case.

I think Perry has the charisma, charm, stature, dignity and authority to make him presidential. He's chiseled and weathered, unlike Santorum. He seems younger than Newt. I'd like to see him paired with Michelle Bachmann. That would be a darn fine ticket. Or with Santorum.

I may not reflect the views of the majority, but that's how I see it.

...And on the final turn... moving up fast on the outside, nosing past Naughty Newt and now into third place, putting the heat on Wrong Way Paul and Moderate Mitt is REAL-DEAL RICK SANTORUM!!!

I tend to think of his countenance as a bit nerdish. After three years of utter incompetence iced over with some element of perceived charisma, nerdish might seem refreshing.

You'll not convince the second tier hopefuls. They will cling on to any ray of hope no matter how dubious.

So are you supporting Ron Paul? or Mitt Romney?

Or if you are supporting Newt, why should conservatives rally around YOUR second tier candidate instead of stronger conservative?

First tier
Mitt Romney 21.8
Ron Paul 20.8

Second tier
Newt Gingrich 15.3
Rick Santorum 12.3
Rick Perry 10.5
Michele Bachmann 9.5

“Santorum has a lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union of 88% conservative. Gingrich has a lifetime rating of 90% conservative.”

I will freely admit that originally I was hoping for a Cain/Santorum ticket but that seems to not be an option. I then thought it would be a good thing to see Santorum at the top of the ticket...I like the rise in the polls but will wait to see how he does in the actual voting. Does anybody see the possibility of a Santorum/Gingrich or Gingrich/Santorum ticket in the future?

So who should conservatives unite behind if not Santorum? Your analysis is of course sound.

Ken Osmond was a great child actor, but Rick Santorum is not Eddie Haskell; he could be Ward Cleaver with a little success.

I hope it does not take our little uninformed primary voters too long to realize that Rick Santorum, with less baggage, is the best we have in this field of contenders.

Santorum is in it for himself.

Couldn't we say that about others too? I think Santorum would be a good president though we will disagree with him on some points. He is hoping the IA retail politics will project him to national consideration. I hope it does too. He would be a refreshing candidate, and if the voters still want Obama, so be it!
