I was not aware that Conservatives are so uniform in thought and political philosophy. In fact, I thought the “Conservative Bloc” was generally thought of as comprising Libertarians, fiscal conservatives, and social conservatives - all to varying degrees, and certainly not mutually exclusive. Of those influences, the libertarian (leave me alone, stop telling me what to do, and stop taking my money) streak predominates.

Strong Defense advocates are usually lumped into that group as well, though the Lefties never seem to have met a war they didn’t like.
