LOL - I actually owned one of those Hallicrafters SW radios. I’ve never again had as good a receiver.
My dad used to have one back in the early 60’s, he wanted to have something during the Cold War, just in case.
I think anything using tubes would survive an EMP attack much better that microcircuits.

Me too. Wired all our copper window screens up, and could pull in Radio Albania (at the time the “voice’ of the chicoms). The hallicrafters are still around in places- you gotta look, and have some tubes handy.
