Friedman is a German based name, however most often Jewish German names ending with “man” usually do so with one “n”, while non-Jewish German names ending in “man” usually do so with two nn’s or “mann”. I believe Mr. Friedman is Jewish as the spelling of his name also implies. Usually is the operative word.
