Christmas Attacks in Nigeria Kill 39

Men look at the wreckage of a car following a bomb blast at St. Theresa Catholic Church outside the Nigerian capital Abuja on Christmas Day.

LAGOS, Nigeria—Attacks across Nigeria by a radical Muslim sect killed at least 39 people Sunday, with the majority dying on the steps of a Catholic church in a massive explosion after Christmas Mass.

Elsewhere, a bomb exploded amid gunfire in the central Nigeria city of Jos and a suicide car bomber attacked the military in the nation's northeast as part of an apparently coordinated assault by the sect known as Boko Haram.

The Christmas Day violence, denounced by world leaders and the Vatican, showed the threat of the widening insurrection posed by Boko Haram against Nigeria's weak central government. Despite a recent paramilitary crackdown against the sect in the oil-rich nation, it appears that Africa's most populous nation remains unable to stop the threat.

"These are cowardly attacks on families gathered in peace and prayer to celebrate a day which symbolizes harmony and goodwill towards others," Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement.

The White House condemned what it called a "senseless" attack, offering condolences to the Nigerian people, especially the families of those killed. The White House said U.S. officials have been in contact with their counterparts in Nigeria and pledged to assist them in bringing those responsible to justice.

The violence will not end until the perps face a serious beat down.

The Christian, oil-rich south of Nigeria needs to secede, following the example of South Sudan.

Had some Nigerians who are brothers come to our church a few years back. They started a construction business together and were fine church members and friends. No victim negative mentality and were glad to be in America.
Pray for Nigerian christians and also for their muslims in bondage to a false religion of violence and deception.

I hope we hear the Pope denounce this violence tomorrow, and denounce the Muslim treatment of Christians across the world.

“Obama is saddened by these misunderstanders of islam./sarc”

But he is all good with the Islamists taking over Egypt, Lybia, Tunisia, et al.

We will rue the day that muslime apologist is in the White House. Mark these words.

These acts were called "senseless" by the White House and "cowardly" by the U.K. They were neither. They were fearless acts of terror by Islamists intended to forcibly convert infidels.

Our own governments have become our worst enemies.

Islamophobia is both equally bigoted and pragmatic.

Islam has always been spiritual sophistry and the most deadly exploiter of political correctness.

Yeh you are right. Not cowardly and not senseless. Its part of a campaign of terror against Christians.

This is Islam 101.
