I always thought that Bush Sr did a great job with that war and I am still convinced he did. He minimized US soldiers life and cost $$$ to this country, while winning a resounding victory. It was a proud time to be Republican and American.
That was part of the reason I believed that his son GWB knew what he was doing, only to be proved wrong, painfully wrong.
Ron Paul?? There is no end of crazy sounding statements in his past. Who cares if Iraq soldiers died in that war? They invaded a neighbor country. Their job was to die or surrender.

The Kurds might disagree with that assessment. Poppy Bush sold their asses down the river after encouraging them to rise up against Saddam, and when we had Saddam on the ropes, the drive to Baghdad was halted, and that sonuvbitch lived to fight another day, and a lot of innocent blood was shed due to the failure of Bush I to fully excise the tumor that was Saddam Hussein. Just like GWB, Poppy Bush left the job undone. In GWB's case, he knocked out one of the three legs of that "Axis of Evil" (i.e., Iraq) and left Iran free to do WTF they wanted, and took North Korea off the list of terrorist supporting nations in October 2008.
Both internationally and domestically, the Bushes have proven themselves to be marginally functional dipsh*ts, and there is little 'conservative' about them, they are the latter day personifications of the Rockefeller Wing of the GOP.

i was actually impressed with the overwhelming of s. hussein and the spankin that george sr put on him...then equally disappointed when we let em up and allowed em to scurry home when we had em on the ropes...
as history showed, a TKO in that situation is NOT a proper finish...
