I will check on the exact statistics on that.
However, if you have a cold, the idea is to stay warm and putting a cap or scarf on your head is another way to keep warm..just like wearing a sweater or warm socks.

Just ask anyone with the flu or a cold, how good it feels also to have something on your head...that can’t be all imaginary. The body knows you are keeping it warm.

But I will check this out.

That cold temperatures create the human sickness known as a "cold" is another old wives's tale. Our Navy debunked that one decades ago during "Operation Deep Freeze" when a large group of people wintered over south of the Artic Circle."Colds" and other sicknesses were just about nonexistent, even though personnel were exposed to long periods of extreme cold.

Doctors don't know the cause of "colds" beyond that they are caused by viruses. Unfortunately, when patients ask any question similar to "Did I get this sickness from being too cold several days ago", doctors usually respond with the easy out of "probably".

Maybe someone can run a study to determine if bald headed men catch more "colds" than the average Hippie.
